Project “Beachside Snack Shop”
This project showcases the skills I learned in the Google UX Design certificate. I created a responsive web and mobile app for a fictional restaurant. My focus for this project was creating pleasant, easy-to-use food ordering experience.
My role:
In this project, I
completed user research,
conducted 5 user interviews and usability studies,
identified user pain points,
implemented 3+ accessibility features,
and incorporated elements of interaction, visual, and motion design.
Project Details:
I started this project by researching and creating user personas, creating a user journey map, and identifying user paint points.
Next, I created mobile wireframes in Figma and desktop wireframes in Adobe XD. I ran two usability studies and, based on the insights, iterated on my designs.
I completed the project by producing high-fidelity prototypes in both Figma and Adobe XD while accounting for accesibility.
Takeaways:
This project challenged me to make my designs accessible to those with visual, hearing, or physical impairments. I learned how to implement features that show an understanding of the interaction between design and accessibility.
This project also challenged me to create a consistent user experience across multiple screen sizes and platforms; I was challenged to appropriately scale images, text, and other features to best fit certain screen sizes.
